Devastation
Migrating Tower Series / $Fundraising for Turkey Earthquake Victims
This painting was created with intense sadness, frustration, and disappointment due to the recent earthquakes in my hometown. The famous Galata Tower represents our past, present, and future.
The little toy of a victim child at the root of the tower represents the massive 1999 earthquake in Turkey. It symbolizes the pain and loss of that time and sends a message to be careful in the future. However, it is too late now! We suffer more and more today from devastating earthquakes because we did not understand the message and consider our upsetting past experiences..
History and Science provide all the answers of our questions, and we must hear those. The painting ‘Devastation’ is the last piece of the artist’s Migrating Towers collection.
